Tests, Screenings, and Services We Offer

Balance Screening: Biodex Balance System

What it is:

  • Billed through insurance for patients of Integrative Medicine at Crossroads

  • We use the Biodex Balance System, a computerized dynamic balance platform used in orthopedic and rehabilitation settings. This 5–10 minute test objectively measures how well your body integrates three critical systems:

    • Visual (what you see)

    • Somatosensory (what you feel through joints and muscles)

    • Vestibular (inner ear balance system)

  • The platform safely challenges your stability while tracking subtle shifts in weight distribution and postural control. The result is a quantitative score, not a guess.

Who is it for:

  • Balance reflects strength, coordination, reaction time, and early neuromuscular changes that often precede falls or injury. This assessment is appropriate for anyone with dizziness or instability, athletes returning from injury, and adults who want proactive data about aging and performance.

What to do with the results:

  • Results include a clear performance report with age-based comparisons and guide next steps, which may include targeted stability training, movement assessment, or corrective exercise programming. Repeat testing allows us to track progress over time.

Functional Movement Assessment

What it is:

  • Billed through insurance for patients of Integrative Medicine at Crossroads for patients with prior medical clearance.

  • Our Functional Movement Assessment evaluates how your body moves as a coordinated system. As we age or become less active, strength, posture, balance, and coordination often decline. In under an hour, our movement specialist guides you through a series of structured movements such as sit to stand, reaching, lifting, core stabilization, and balance tasks to identify inefficiencies, compensation patterns, and areas of weakness.

Who is it for:

  • This service is ideal for older adults, individuals new to exercise, those managing chronic conditions, people returning after inactivity, and anyone who wants to move more safely and confidently. The goal is not simply to exercise more, but to move better.

What to do with the results:

  • In a follow-up session after the initial assessment, our movement specialist Christina Corsetty, MA, NBC-HWC, SFS will review your results and develop a targeted corrective exercise plan designed to reduce strain, improve stability, and lower injury risk.

Echolight (REMS) High-Resolution Bone Density Ultrasound

What it is:

  • We use the Echolight system, which utilizes REMS, Radiographic Echographic Multi Spectrometry technology, to assess bone density and strength at the spine and hip without radiation. Unlike traditional DEXA scanning, this ultrasound-based approach allows for safe, repeat measurements and closer tracking when you begin a new intervention.

  • The scan takes approximately 30 minutes and involves placing an ultrasound probe on the lower abdomen and upper thigh. The visit also includes an InBody analysis to measure body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, and visceral fat score. For accuracy, patients should avoid eating within four hours of the test.

Who is it for:

  • This assessment is ideal for individuals monitoring osteopenia or osteoporosis risk, those beginning strength or nutrition interventions aimed at improving bone health, and anyone who wants earlier, more actionable data than standard screening intervals allow.

Cost & What to do with the results:

  • You will be scheduled for a follow up visit with one of our providers to review the findings and create a targeted plan. The test is $100, and the follow up visit is billed through insurance when applicable. For patients who prefer to receive the report without a follow up visit, the total cost for testing and immediate printed results is $250.

Osteogro Exercise & Program Membership

What is Osteogro Exercise:

  • OsteoGro Exercise uses two advanced technologies—bioDensity™ and Whole-Body Vibration (WBV) — to safely stimulate the body’s natural ability to build bone and strengthen muscle. Sessions take less than 20 minutes once weekly and are designed to deliver high intensity skeletal loading in a safe, controlled environment.

  • It is recommended to do once weekly sessions for at least 6 months to see changes in bone density and muscle synthesis.

Who is it for:

  • This program is recommended for adults seeking non pharmaceutical support for bone health, individuals with osteopenia or osteoporosis risk, and those experiencing age related muscle loss. It is also appropriate for people with limited time or who cannot tolerate traditional strength training.

  • Consistent weekly participation for at least six months is recommended to support measurable changes in bone density and muscle strength. Options are $30 per session, $270 for 10 sessions, or $510 for 20 sessions.
